Hospitals in Dubai discharge patients earlier than they used to, which is good for recovery but leaves families managing dressings, injections, drains and medication schedules on their own. A home nurse takes that load: the wound is cleaned and dressed properly, blood thinners are injected on time, a catheter or drain is handled hygienically and any sign of infection is caught early and reported to your surgeon.

We care for patients after orthopaedic surgery (hip and knee replacement, fracture fixation), abdominal and bariatric surgery, caesarean section, cardiac procedures and cosmetic surgery, as well as elderly patients returning home after a hospital stay. Visits can be booked as one-off dressing changes or as a daily plan for one to four weeks, with the same nurse where possible.

When to book

  • Discharged with a wound that needs dressing every day or every other day
  • Prescribed daily injections you cannot give yourself
  • A catheter, drain or stoma that needs professional handling
  • An elderly relative who needs nursing support for the first weeks at home
  • Post-natal recovery after a caesarean section

What the clinician does at home

  • Wound assessment, cleaning and sterile dressing changes, including surgical staples and suture removal when prescribed
  • Injections: anticoagulants, antibiotics, pain relief and insulin, on the schedule set by your doctor
  • Urinary catheter, drain and stoma care, and monitoring of output
  • Vital signs, pain assessment and medication management, with a written report after every visit
  • Mobility and pressure-sore prevention, and escalation to your surgeon or a home doctor visit if something is wrong
Call 999 or go to an emergency department if
  • Heavy bleeding from the wound that does not stop with pressure
  • Sudden chest pain, shortness of breath or a swollen painful calf (possible clot)
  • Fever above 38.5 °C with a red, hot, foul-smelling wound
  • Confusion, fainting or a very fast heartbeat
  • The wound has opened or organs are visible
