Fever is the most common reason people call us. In adults it is usually a viral infection (flu, cold, COVID-19), a throat or sinus infection, a urinary infection or a stomach bug. In children the same applies, with ear infections and viral rashes added to the list. Most fevers are not dangerous, but they are exhausting, and the difference between "wait it out" and "start treatment tonight" is a proper examination.

A home visit means no waiting room full of other sick people, no driving with a feverish child, and a doctor who has time to examine properly: temperature, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, throat, ears, chest and abdomen. If a test would change the treatment, the doctor can do a rapid test or arrange a blood draw at home the same visit.
